Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph ask transfer question after Tom Davies proves point

Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands face an ‘interesting’ transfer window after Fabian Delph continued his Everton comeback at West Ham United on Sunday.

Delph, 31, has appeared in the last three matches after missing four months of the season with a hamstring injury suffered at Burnley in December.

Tom Davies impressed alongside Allan in midfield at the London Stadium as Ancelotti made the decision to drop Andre Gomes while Abdoulaye Doucoure also returned to the bench following his own two-month injury lay-off.

Ancelotti has insisted Everton are unlikely to enter the transfer market to replace Jean-Philippe Gbamin in the summer as he keeps faith with the Ivorian despite the injuries that have plagued his time at Goodison Park since joining from Mainz for £25m in 2019.

But speaking on the latest edition of the Royal Blue Podcast, ECHO reporter Chris Beesley believes ‘question marks’ remain around summer recruitment in the middle of the park.
