Gareth Southgate thinks that footballers should be considered for early coronavirus vaccination to help ensure that the European Championship takes place this summer.
The England manager said that the vaccination roll-out in the United Kingdom had reached the point where there was a responsibility to protect elite sportspeople while they continue to compete.

“We are moving to the stage where we are asking athletes to put themselves into situations where they are more likely to catch the virus than others and we have a responsibility to them as well,” he said.
