She may have missed out on yet another golden statuette, but she certainly won over the crowd on Oscars night this weekend.
And Glenn Close shed further light on her now-viral moment from the Academy Awards on Sunday, in a lengthy caption alongside a photo from the evening on Instagram.

In the caption, she discussed the circumstances surrounding the moment when she was asked by Lil Rel Howery about the song Da Butt from the 1988 Spike Lee movie School Daze.
‘We had the MOST FUN at our table at the Oscars last night,’ Close began.
‘I knew that Lil Rel was going to quiz me about Da Butt and all three guys helped me run through what I was to say,’ she later added, confirming what many suspected.
Bustin’ moves: In the caption, she discussed the circumstances surrounding the moment when she was asked by Lil Rel Howery about the song Da Butt – which she then danced to
‘Darrell insisted that I mention the Backyard Band, on top of E.U., Suga Bear and the whole DMV. I had googled “Da Butt” and watched Spike’s music video so when Lil Rel asked if I could do the dance…you can actually see me think of the video,’ the Fatal Attraction star continued. ‘That part was completely spontaneous.’
The dance itself saw the septuagenarian screen legend actually get up and shake her booty, to the delight of Twitter and beyond.
‘Daniel, Darrell and Chris egged me on!!!’ Glenn wrote Monday on Instagram.
