Leipzig chief makes Ibrahima Konate clause admission
RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has opened up on the future of Ibrahima Konate amid interest from Liverpool.
The ECHO understands that Reds have placed Konate on a five-man centre-back shortlist that they will consider signing this summer.
Various reports have emerged over the past few weeks claiming that a deal is close to being completed, but as things stand he is still a Leipzig player.
Liverpool could well be in the market for a new centre-back this summer, despite Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip expected to return to action for the start of next season.

Leipzig were involved in the DFB Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night, losing 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund.
After the game Mintzlaff spoke to the media about Konate’s future, and confirmed that the player does have a release clause in his contract.
Konate is said to have a clause that could be activated if interested clubs pay £34m, but despite this Mintzlaff says he wants the player to stay at Leipzig.
